About

Sacramento Valley Optometric Society

Purpose Statement

We promote the profession of optometry, and we provide society members with support needed to provide the highest level of optometric care. The Sacramento Valley Optometric Society consists of a network of doctors from Auburn (Grass Valley & Nevada City),  Placerville and South Lake Tahoe, the greater Sacramento metro area, south to Elk Grove, west to Davis, Dixon & Woodland to even as far as the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Sacramento Valley Optometric Society is the local affiliation of the California Optometric Association encompassing Sacramento County and the surrounding region. Our mission is to advance and promote the profession of Optometry and to provide its members with the resources and support needed to provide the highest level of optometric care. The Sacramento Valley Optometric Society (SVOS) represents members from every practice modality, including private, corporate, academic, and HMO.

In addition to standard COA benefits and support, SVOS members are eligible to attend our six continuing education dinner meetings free of charge. The Spring Symposium held in March and the Lake Tahoe Seminar held in July continue to attract prominent speakers from around the nation and members receive a discount on registration.

SVOS serves the community through public education events and free eye screenings. We frequently work with service organizations such as the Lion’s Club and the American Diabetes Association.
